The role of companies in instilling peace can range from both political participation (supporting peace negotiations) to economic and social participation (providing jobs and entrepreneurial possibilities). This all serves to reinforce the idea that peace goes well beyond political agreements and necessarily implies the creation of sustainable ways of life over the mid term. In this respect, companies harbour enormous potential to encourage peace from their areas of influence through their CSR and social action policies.
